10, 20, 30 years from now?
I remember senior year in high school the teachers would ask us to make a plan for our future, mainly where we would go to college, what we would study, then were we would work. I also remember being clueless.
A few years down the line and I'm still pretty much at the same point. Better off now that I've returned to my initial interests of the arts rather than blindly tossing myself into a school I didn't want with a major I didn't like just to appease my parents. But still I'm not sure where I'm going with it. I love the arts, visual, theatre, music, et cetera, do I know how I would like to use them? Hardly.
Career aside though. Where do I see myself physically? Ten years from now, most likely the city; enjoying the hustle and bustle, so much to do wherever I go. By the city I mean, more likely than not, San Francisco. (Sac, where I am now, is very spread out and has a different dynamic.) I've visualized myself maybe owning some sort of club. Not so much a dance club, but one where locals can gather, and enjoy local arts. I'd have a gallery set up showcasing all the up and coming painters around town, and a stage for all those awesome indie bands to perform. Then a bar fully stocked with delicious juices, smoothies, teas, whatever. (not alcohol though, trying to keep this an all age thing, it SUCKS having no where to go when you're under 21)
Where do I see myself Twenty years down instead? Not really sure, hopefully in some profession I love.
Something in the arts preferably. I'd love to make art for bands, animate music videos, etc. Although really this comes from my obsession with Jamie Hewlitt's work. Any form of art would probably do, but my love of animation hopefully will tie into it. I realize that as i stand right now I would be far from ready for any such thing, but it gives me something to work up to. I also have a passion for music, although little musical talent so the idea just kind of drifted into my head. But I'm sure there are countless other ways i could combine the two interests as well.
Thirty years? That's a really long time, I'll be old then. Well I'll be middle aged, not really that old given I live to a healthy old age which i plan to. At this point I usually see myself out at sea, due to my love of the ocean. The coast has always been my favorite place to go, whether it be to the beach, bluffs, or just a nice overcast coastal town such as Fort Bragg or Mendocino. I realize my vision of my future has me in somewhat of a lone sea wolf position though, and honestly, I'd much rather be spending these later years with the love of my life. Living in an ocean front villa with our pet dog and playing in the waves. We'd have a small sail boat and go off on journeys, but this way at least we'd always have a nice cozy home to return to at the end of the night.
Damn...I finally come back to finish this and realize it sounds incredibly cheesy. Stupid blog, at least no one knows about it yet!
